Osaka, Kansai, Japan, 17 September 2025 – One month before the closing of World Expo 2025 Osaka, the Indonesia Pavilion has officially surpassed its total target of 2.8 million visitors since it opened on 13 April 2025. The 2,800,000th visitor was a Japanese couple soon to be married, who received a special gift: round-trip flight tickets from Osaka to Bali and a 3-day, 2-night hotel stay.

"Reaching our visitor target today shows the world's strong interest in Indonesia. More than just numbers, this achievement reflects the global enthusiasm for Indonesian culture, innovation, and our commitment to sustainable development. We hope this momentum will open more opportunities for cooperation, investment, and cultural exchange in the future," said Deputy Director of the Indonesia Pavilion, P.N. Laksmi Kusumawati, at World Expo 2025 Osaka on Tuesday (16/9). This milestone officially fulfills the Indonesia Pavilion's target of 2.8 million visitors.

The Indonesia Pavilion carries the theme “Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future,” inspired by Tri Hita Karana, a Balinese philosophy emphasizing harmony among people, nature, and the Creator. The pavilion not only showcases Indonesia’s culture and innovation but also serves as a platform for economic diplomacy and international cooperation.

From April to mid-September, the pavilion has held 64 Business Forums and One-on-One Meetings, involving investors, industry players, and government representatives from various countries. These resulted in 10 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), 9 Letters of Intent (LoIs), 1 Joint Venture Agreement, and 11 indicative agreements for travel package sales. In total, these outcomes represent USD 23.8 billion in investment commitments across sustainable sectors, green industry, creative economy, trade, waste management, and tourism.

The implementation of the Indonesia Pavilion is supported by various strategic partners, including Astra, Artha Graha Peduli, KAPPI, Pertamina, Barito Pacific Group, Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), Indofood, Japfa, BPDP, Garuda Indonesia, Telkomsel, as well as numerous ministries/agencies/local governments and other related institutions. This collaboration reflects a synergy between national strength and global networks in presenting the best of Indonesia on the world stage.

“The support from partners and stakeholders further strengthens Indonesia’s efforts in promoting sustainable development and fostering global cooperation. Moving forward, we hope this will open new investment opportunities that will benefit both society and the environment,” said Deputy Director Laksmi.
