Osaka, Kansai, Japan, 18 September 2025 – The Minister of National Development Planning / Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, attended the launch of the short film Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta as well as the culinary book trilogy Nasi, Sambal, Soto at the Indonesia Pavilion, World Expo 2025 Osaka. “This launch aligns with the broader theme of sustainable development while also encouraging the productivity of MSMEs, tourism, and new cooperation opportunities. Culinary art is a bridge to strengthening Indonesia’s relationship with the global community,” said the Deputy for Economy and Digital Transformation at the Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas, Vivi Yulaswati—who also serves as Consul General of the Indonesia Pavilion at World Expo 2025—on Thursday (18/9).

So far, the Indonesia Pavilion has exceeded its targets in both visitor numbers and investment achievements. Since its opening on 13 April 2025, the Pavilion has welcomed over 2.8 million visitors, featured more than 100 Cultural Performances, exhibited 90 products in the Rolling Exhibition, and held 60 Business Forums and One-on-One Meetings, resulting in investment commitments up to USD 23.8 billion.

The film Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta and the culinary trilogy books Soto, Sambal, and Nasi are initiatives by the Didit Hediprasetyo Foundation. The six-minute film directed by Garin Nugroho highlights Yogyakarta, renowned for its cultural diversity, community warmth, and culinary heritage, all wrapped in a modern artistic expression. Meanwhile, the trilogy books Soto, Sambal, dan Nasi offer not just recipes, but stories, traditions, and nuances that make culinary arts an integral part of daily life.

The Indonesia Pavilion’s implementation is supported by various strategic partners, including Astra, Artha Graha Peduli, KAPPI, Pertamina, Barito Pacific Group, Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), Indofood, Japfa, BPDP, Garuda Indonesia, Telkomsel, as well as various ministries/agencies, regional governments, and related institutions.
