Osaka, Japan – October 17, 2025 – The Indonesia Pavilion has won the Silver Award in the Exhibition Design category for Self-Built Pavilions larger than 1,500 m² at the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, organized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
This award affirms Indonesia’s reputation on the global stage as a country capable of presenting a forward-looking vision through design, creativity, and innovation.

This award is part of the Official Participant Awards, the highest official recognition granted by BIE to Expo participants. An international jury of nine experts in architecture, culture, communication, design, and sustainable development assessed pavilions across five award categories: Architecture & Landscape (for self-built pavilions), External Design (for modular pavilions), Exhibition Design, Theme Development, and Sustainability.

In the Exhibition Design category, the Indonesia Pavilion was recognized for its immersive, informative, and emotionally engaging exhibition design. It highlighted Indonesia’s spirit of innovation in sustainability, technology, culture, and humanity—aligning with the overarching Expo 2025 theme: "Designing Future Society for Our Lives."

The Indonesia Pavilion’s exhibition design blends modern architecture with the warmth of Nusantara culture, presenting a strong narrative of the nation’s journey toward a sustainable future.

Each space is crafted as an experience that integrates technology, art, and nature, inviting visitors to explore interactive zones showcasing technological innovation, eco-friendly practices, and Indonesia’s contributions to global issues such as climate change, renewable energy, and biodiversity conservation.

This achievement continues Indonesia’s track record of excellence in its participation at world expos. Previously, Indonesia earned:

● Bronze Award at World Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan in the Content category (for pavilions under 324 m²); and
● Bronze Award at World Expo 2010 Shanghai, China in the Creative Display category.

Now, with the Silver Award for Exhibition Design at World Expo 2025 Osaka, Indonesia marks another milestone in cultural diplomacy and global innovation.
This achievement not only recognizes the beauty and quality of the Indonesia Pavilion's design, but also celebrates the collaborative spirit between the government, designers, artists, and the private sector who contributed to the project—a clear example of how culture and creativity can serve as a bridge for diplomacy and inspiration for the future.
