Osaka, Kansai, Japan, May 27, 2025 – National Day is a one-day celebration held by each participating country of World Expo 2025 Osaka as a symbol of cultural exchange and international friendship, highlighting national identity at its core. Indonesia’s National Day celebration at the World Expo 2025 Osaka on Tuesday (27/5) at the National Day Hall marks a significant moment to officially celebrate the country's participation by showcasing the nation’s rich cultural diversity to the world, while also demonstrating a spirit of global cooperation through strengthened friendship and collaboration between Indonesia, Japan, and other nations.

Vice Minister of National Development Planning/Vice Head of Bappenas, Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, emphasized that Indonesia’s National Day at the World Expo 2025 Osaka is a vital opportunity to introduce the nation’s natural and cultural wealth from across the archipelago. It is also a platform to present Indonesia’s potential, innovations, progress, and promote Indonesian products globally.

“Today is very special for us as it coincides with Indonesia’s National Day at the World Expo 2025 Osaka. Through various cultural performances and educational installations at the Indonesia Pavilion, we aim to demonstrate how natural wealth, cultural traditions, and sustainable innovation can go hand in hand,” said Vice Minister Febrian during a press conference at the Indonesia Pavilion prior to the parade.

Indonesia’s National Day celebration began with a parade from the Grand Ring at the Indonesia Pavilion to the National Day Hall, featuring Betawi’s ondel-ondel, Reog Ponorogo, and various traditional dances, followed by an official ceremony in the National Day Hall aligned with the Indonesia Pavilion theme “Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, and Future.”

The cultural performances, serving as the final segment of Indonesia's National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, featured Pencak Silat and musical acts by Endah Laras, Tulus, and Putri Ariani. This series of events was made possible through the support of various partners, notably Astra, which played a strategic role in ensuring Indonesia's successful participation in Expo 2025 Osaka.

"We are proud to support and be part of the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. Astra's support and active participation in the Indonesia Pavilion are expected to serve as a strategic momentum to showcase Indonesia's cultural richness and innovation to the world. It also provides a platform for interaction and communication between Indonesian representatives and Pavilion visitors, thereby enhancing international understanding of Indonesia's unique culture, traditions, and values," said Boy Kelana Soebroto, Astra's Chief of Corporate Affairs.

Indonesia's National Day was led by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Pratikno, accompanied by the Chairperson of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas), Selvi Gibran Rakabuming. The event concluded with all delegates visiting the Japan and Indonesia Pavilions, followed by a dinner hosted by representatives of the Japanese Government and the Bureau International des Expositions 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

"We hope that Indonesia's National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka will further open doors for collaboration and cooperation between the Indonesian Government and the Japanese Government, as well as with other countries, especially in the fields of clean energy, green infrastructure, digital transformation, and tourism," concluded Vice Minister Febrian.
