Since 2018, Pertamina has been committed to supporting the Sahabat Istimewa Traditional Dance School—a program dedicated to nurturing the talents and skills of individuals with disabilities. This free Cirebon dance school also plays a key role in preserving and revitalizing Indonesia’s cultural heritage. The initiative aligns closely with the theme of the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka: Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future, which highlights the importance of living sustainably in harmony with culture, nature, and a shared vision for a better future.

On July 2nd, 4th, and 6th, 2025, six talented individuals with disabilities had the unique opportunity to perform at the Indonesia Pavilion during Expo 2025 in Osaka. Taking the international stage, these “special friends” supported by Pertamina showcased their abilities with confidence and left a lasting impression on the audience.

Inclusivity was also highlighted through the traditional art of batik. Pertamina featured Sri Sulastri, a speech-impaired batik artist from the Sriekandi Patra group in Boyolali, Central Java. On-site at the Pavilion, Sri demonstrated her batik-making skills live, drawing attention with the elegance of her craftsmanship.

The Sriekandi Patra group has designed several unique batik motifs, with Lembu Patra being the most iconic. Inspired by Boyolali’s native cattle that symbolize prosperity, this design received official recognition as intellectual property from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in 2019. Today, it stands as a signature local product promoted by the Boyolali regional government.

Pertamina supports groups like Sriekandi Patra through its Difabelpreneur program—an initiative under its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) efforts—empowering people with disabilities to become independent, self-sustaining entrepreneurs.
