JAKARTA: In support of Indonesia’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Indonesia Vision 2045 on the global stage, Astra is collaborating with the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) to actively participate and contribute to Indonesia’s presence at the World Expo 2025 Osaka.
This support is marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two parties, demonstrating Astra’s tangible contribution to the World Expo, which will be held in Osaka, Japan, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. The event will take place over six months, from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
The cooperation signing ceremony took place today (February 13) at the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) and was signed by the Secretary of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Principal Secretary of Bappenas, Teni Widuriyanti, and Astra’s Head of Corporate Communications, Boy Kelana Soebroto. The signing was witnessed by the Deputy Minister of National Development Planning/Deputy Head of Bappenas, Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, and Astra Director, Gita Tiffani Boer.
"Various collaborative activities between parties and across nations can be fostered through the World Expo, which runs for an extended period. It provides a platform for learning about innovations and technologies to showcase sustainable solutions, enhance global partnerships, and strengthen diplomatic cooperation. This participation is further supported by Astra, which has committed to supporting the Indonesian government's participation in World Expo 2025 Osaka," said Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy.
"Aligned with the theme of World Expo 2025 Osaka, which aims to promote innovation and global collaboration to create a sustainable future society, Astra hopes this strategic collaboration will further strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global stage. It will also open up broader cooperation opportunities in the pursuit of sustainable development for both today and Indonesia's future," said Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs, Riza Deliansyah.
Astra’s contribution to the Indonesia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka aligns with the pavilion’s goal of showcasing Indonesia’s strong national identity, including its rich natural resources, cultural and ethnic diversity, and noble values. Under the theme “Thriving The Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future”, the Indonesia Pavilion will serve as a visually engaging and immersive experience for international visitors.
Astra’s commitment to supporting the World Expo, held every five years, dates back to its participation in the Shanghai World Expo in 2010, followed by Milan in 2015 and Dubai in 2021.
Astra’s enthusiasm in supporting Indonesia’s participation in the World Expo 2025 Osaka aligns with its vision of Prosperity with the Nation and its support for Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
